I didn't think I needed a Maid of Honor. I thought I could take care of things myself. I was sure wrong...
I'm used to being the one planning things... Friday nights, Birthday parties, etc. and I do it because I love to do it. I love to do things for other people, and I love to make a big deal about their special days, whatever those days may be. In the past I have also planned those special days for myself. I never minded... it meant that I got to do what I wanted to do on those days, but a Birthday comes every year... a wedding comes once (well, at least for me it's going to).
So as J and I have been planning (and yes... he has been VERY involved and it's been great) we have found a lot of stuff that we want to do ourselves... which means that there are a lot of things that I don't want to do myself... specifically, plan the parties. I need a go to girl... who I can trust... who I know will think of every detail and take care of EVERYTHING that I need her to.
So, I wrote a letter, begged and pleaded (just kidding) and now, I have a fantastic M of H who is going to take great care of me. As much as I don't mind handing out tasks... I don't want to have to tell everyone what they should be doing... I love that I have her to step up and volunteer to take on those things that the bridal party does for the bride... you know... decorating the honeymoon suite... making sure the shoes are there... hugging the Mother of the Bride when the day gets emotional.
HOORAY FOR BESTEST FRIENDS!!!!
And I'm crying again...
