I have seen such a variety of different "Out of Towner" ideas on the blogs I follow and websites I've looked at recently. I am really excited to have friends and family from out of town who are planning to come in for our wedding! We have a great hotel ready for them and now I just have to decide what to do to welcome them to Fort Wayne!!!
Here are some ideas that I've seen:
Bride on a Budget
These are all really great, but if I was coming to a strange city for a wedding, I would want to know what there is around me. I know that not everyone who is coming to the wedding is making a family vacation out of it, but there will definitely be some who are, and I want to make sure that they have information about the best places to visit as well as great places to take their kids.
SOOOOO, I've decided to do a simple, white, 9" x 12" envelope with a welcome note on the front and a bunch of information, brochures and (most importantly) coupons inside!!! I have already contacted the Visitor's Bureau and they said they could supply me with anything that I need for our guests!
It's not going to be a lot, but hopefully it will be something that they think is pretty cool when the hotel gives them their WELCOME envelope along with their room key!
The cookie is such a cute idea! If only we all had endless budgets! :) Is there anything specific to Ft. Wayne that you could also include that would be low-budget?

The only "Ft Wayne-y"thing I can think of is apples (since Ft Wayne claims Johnny Appleseed)... That could be an option, but I'll have to see if I can package all of it somehow.
