Wedding Week Recap – After the Party is the After Party

We didn’t have assigned seating at the rehearsal dinner and we were hoping that the wedding party would kind of intermingle and get to know each other a little.  That didn’t exactly happen as we planned, which was no big deal, but we decided that instead of calling it a night, we should go to a bar where people could have a chance to get to know each other.

We wanted a place where we could sit outside and our photographers recommended a little dive pool hall that had a good outdoor space.  The guys went there immediately… the girls went home to change.  When we got there, some of the guys (including J) were ready to go back to the lake.  We talked them into staying for a little while longer, but it was only about an hour before J was REALLY ready to leave.  He was tired and wanted to get some sleep.  He and a couple other guys left, but there was a group of about 15 of us who stuck around.

We had a lot of fun talking and getting to know each other and luckily, one of the groomsmen made sure that I always had a drink if I wanted it.  We eventually realized that you could smoke outside but you could not smoke inside, so we put some tables together inside for that last part of our night.  I told the guys that I expected all of them to do the Cupid Shuffle at the wedding as the official “kick off” to the party, and some of them had no idea what I was talking about, so my MOH found the juke box and played the song and a bunch of us got up and danced to it.  Most of the guys were pretty lame and didn’t do it with us, but we got a few out there.

It was close to midnight when I realized I should be sleeping because I kind of had an important day ahead of me so I rounded up the girls and we went home.  The guys… well, I don’t know for a fact, but rumor has it they found one of Ft Wayne’s fine gentlemen’s clubs to end their night… gross.
