The day before the wedding and the centerpieces weren’t done… or even started for that matter. We should have gotten up and made that the first project of the day, but the chance to relax and have fun got the best of us and we really spent the whole day outside, on my parents’ back porch and in the pool. We did make a run to Target to get some last minute things for our Wedding Day Survival Kit and I got some cash to pay people so it wasn’t a totally wasted day. Our ring bearer (J’s nephew…and I guess mine too, now) had a slight melt down when he got to the house and I wasn’t there, but a few hugs and kisses later and some time in the pool and he was all better! While we were outside, my mom and my aunts and J’s mom were inside making our centerpieces. It really was a quick process… probably less than 2 hours to get them all done. They did a WONDEFUL job and I really love how they looked!

We had to be ready to go to the rehearsal around 3:00 pm so we all took showers and got ready and everyone looked so pretty! We headed over there and the guys were already there waiting for us. Our DJ was there, too, and our officiant came shortly after we did. Everyone got some quick introductions and then we got started.
We lined everyone up where they were supposed to be and then the guys went inside and the girls went out the back gate to practice the processional. Our ring bearer and flower girl met for the first time and he was instantly in love with her. It was so cute. He met her and then grabbed her hand and basically didn’t let go. This was good because she is a little older and a lot more calm than he is and she made sure he didn’t take off down the aisle sprinting :)
We were standing outside the gate, getting ready for the music to start for the bridesmaids and I watched as each of the girls walked down the aisle. Then the music changed to my song (You Look Wonderful Tonight by Vitamin String Quartet) and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I had been so focused on getting things done and making sure everything was ready that I hadn’t even thought about the ceremony and what it would be like to have my dad walk me down the aisle and see Jason standing there. I immediately started crying and as soon as the girls saw me crying, they started crying.
We ran through the ceremony and fixed a slight error that the officiant had on the recessional (the DJ saves the day and hands her the correct order sheet) and then we ran through it again. It was much better the next time and there were no tears.
Next: Rehearsal dinner… but first…
