Ceremony Music

I was originally planning on getting married in a church and I was planning on having the ceremony music provided by a solo piano because I absolutely love the sound of a solo piano, especially in a church.

Well, that's changed, and when J and I started talking about ceremony music, we had to take some new things into account.  One great thing is that we can pick whatever music we want now, which was not necessarily going to be an option at the church.  One thing that's not so great is that we need the music to fill the outdoors, now that our ceremony is going to be in the courtyard.

So, unless I want to hire a quartet or some horns, we have to go with music from a DJ.  I knew that I didn't want words in the songs, and I knew I wanted it to be powerful.  We had also already picked out some songs that we wanted to include so I did some research on iTunes and looked for piano or string versions of some of the songs.  J and I listened to them and there was no comparison between the two.  The piano would get lots in the space because you lose so much when you record a piano versus hearing it live.

So we found versions of most of our songs by Vitamin String Quartet and as we listened to those songs compared to the piano, it was an easy choice.  Vitamin String Quartet did not have all of our songs so we had to find other orchestras playing some of them, but we were successful, and now we just have to figure out which songs we want to use specifically for the processional/recessional and which ones will just be used to set the stage pre-ceremony.

So here is the list (in alpha order) of the songs that will be played before and during the ceremony:
"All You Need is Love"
"At Last"
"Can't Help Falling in Love"
"Hallelujah"
"Have I Told You Lately"
"Here, There and Everywhere"
"I'll Be There"
"I Don't Want to Miss a Thing"
"Somebody to Love"
"Take My Breath Away"
"Unchained Melody"
"Wonderful Tonight"
"You've Got a Friend"
