Guest Post and Goals

Hope everyone's have a great week so far!  I am SUPER excited to be today's guest post-er on Wine and Cheese, Please while Laura is on her honeymoon.

I'm currently teaching an academic class to a group of freshmen who, after last semester, needed some guidance and needed to refocus so that they could make grades and come back to school next semester.  This week, I have spent a lot of my time meeting with them individually to decide on a specific goal for them to focus on this semester.  It's been really great getting to meet with them... some of them have really opened up and let me get to know them and I think that making that connection with me has made them more willing to talk in class and hopefully they are getting some good tips from the information we cover.

All of the talk about goals had given me some motivation to sit down with J and get make some deadlines for ourselves regarding the stuff we have left to do for the wedding.  The major thing that I'm focused on right now is the invitations... they are all printed, but we have to put a matting on them, get them in the inner envelope with a couple extra notes, get them in the outer envelope, get them addressed and stamped and sent!  Doesn't sound like a lot, but the matting is going to take a while.

So, we are giving ourselves a deadline of April 5 for invitations.  That also gives us a little bit of wiggle room, just in case something crazy happens or something goes wrong before our send out date of April 20.

I'm going to go home tonight and work on some more deadlines and goals to set for myself and I'll let you know how it goes soon!
