Videographer - CHECK!

Because we have two fabulous photographers lined up from Catie's Captures, we didn't originally plan for (or budget for) a pro videographer. I didn't think I'd ever care to watch the video and they are SOOOO expensive.  Plus, I've heard of so many videographers who take the couples money and they never see their video.  Lucy for me, I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Saying "I Do" and she blogged about My Flip Wedding from Storymix Media.  I did some more research and emailed them with some questions and I've been working with Mike, who has been AWESOME and more than willing to answer all of my million questions.

With Storymix we get the great parts of DIY and professional editing. They supply Flip cams for 3 day usage by our friends, family, guests, and even us to shoot footage the whole weekend.  They upload the files after we send it back in the pre-paid box to our account online.  Then we get to personalize everything by picking the scenes and adding captions and titles.  Their Apple Pro Certified editors then edit it into an amazing 15-20 minute highlight movie on DVD.  How cool!

The other neat thing for a DIYer like me is the option to create my own theme for them to use during editing.  Besides the standard themes, you can create your own version.  I chose the Mix n Match option and picked the editing style, font, and music genre from different themes.  You can even customize it to match the colors and style of your wedding!  Check out a sample from another wedding that used My Flip Wedding.

Their pricing is VERY reasonable... starting at $100 and now that I found a cousin to do the filming, I'm sure that doing a DIY video is going to be a really great option for us!  One of the questions that I had was about the "rest of the footage" and Mike assured me that anything that we filmed would be sent to us as raw footage on a DVD, in addition to the professionally edited video that they put together for us.  We decided to go with their 3 camera package so we were sure we had enough camera time to get everything we wanted!

Stoymix also has a blog, which has awesome tips for getting great photos and videos from your wedding.  After we get back from the honeymoon, I'll do a review to let you know how everything went.  I can't wait to show you the DIY theme I created.  Check out My Flip Wedding from Storymix Media and let me know what you think!
