We went on Thursday for our first dance consultation at Dance on the Vine in Grapevine. It came very highly recommended from a friend of mine at work, and I'm really excited to start our lessons!
They listened to our music and showed us two options for dances. We decided on a rumba and I think it's going to be a lot of fun to learn! They are slightly pushy when it comes time to decide how many sessions you want to pay for, but overall I am really excited to get our lessons started.
We are going back next week for our first lesson and we will get to start on our choreography. Once we get our lessons started we will make our final determination on how long we want our dance to be. J's initial cut of the music makes our dance about 2:45 and I still think that's going to be a long time for two reasons...
1. He doesn't like to be the center of attention
2. We are doing 5 lessons and I don't think we will be able to learn that long of a dance in such a short time
We will just wait to see how things go, though... we have plenty of time to make the final decision on the music. More to come after our first real lesson!!!
