Indiana Shower Recap

After a late night out in Chicago, complete with fun decorations and dares, we got up early to get on the train to Indiana where two of my aunts hosted a bridal shower for me.

The shower took place at my Aunt Sandi's church and the decorations were so cute and my wedding colors were EVERYWHERE!

Every year for my Birthday, my aunt makes me taco salad.  It's become a tradition and I'm not even sure how many years it's happened now.  Well, when she called and asked if she could throw me a shower, the first thing I asked was if she would make me taco salad!  When she makes it, she puts everything in separate containers so everyone can put whatever they want on their salad and it is perfect for everyone!

My other aunt who hosted the shower is my mom's older sister, who is also my God mother.  She has 2 sons, one of who still calls me his little sister.  When I was a baby, my aunt was at our house just about every other weekend and she has always had a special nickname... Deedle Deedle Dee (long story).  She has always been like another mother to me and I have always loved spending time at her house!

So, back to the shower... we ate taco salad and these amazing frozen fruit cups and some really great cupcakes. Then we played some games that I made for the shower...

After games (and maybe some more food) I opened presents and got really amazing stuff!  One of my cousins took pictures of stuff in the area where my lake house is (where my dad grew up) that spell out LOVE and she put it in a frame for me... what a special present!!

After presents, a freak thunderstorm and clean up, we headed to my lake house, but not before we took a group picture!!!

That cute little girl in the front row is my flower girl.  She is SOOO cute!

J's mom actually came all the way from Minnesota for the weekend, and she brought the flower girl dress with her!  We went back to the lake and she tried on the dress and it is SOOO perfect!  I can't even believe how great it looked on her!

So for the rest of the evening, we talked and laughed and had a great time and then we went to bed and got a little more sleep than the night before.  We were on the road at 6:00 am and headed back to Chicago to catch our flight home.  Luckily the trip home was much smoother than the trip there.  I got all my thank you notes done on the plane, which was great because it meant the weekend was fresh on my mind.  It was a great weekend and I'm so lucky to have such great friends and family who love me so much!!!
