Wedding Week Recap – Thursday

OK, I'm back and ready for some recaps!  If you haven't read the recaps from the beginning of the wedding week, here's the short run-down:

Monday - got our marriage license, met with the DJ and started on some projects with the help of my parents, aunts, uncles and grandma.

Tuesday - my final dress fitting, a trip to our rehearsal dinner location (for lunch) to pick the menu, more projects and more family time.

So that brings us to Thursday

The two bridesmaids who came on Wednesday went with me to run a couple errands.  We went to take their dresses to get steamed and one ended up having hers taken in a little more… my awesome tailor was a superstar and had it done in 24 hours for us.  We also had to run to our party supply place and get the lights and the green napkins that we rented from them.  The napkins weren't actually being used for their intended purpose… we used them as a place mat for the centerpieces.  Another vendor that was SUPER easy to work with.  We got there, gave them my name, I paid the balance, they gave me a receipt and we walked down to the warehouse where they had everything sitting on a cart waiting for us.  We loaded them up and away we went!  The lights even had the colors in them already so we didn't have to do any assembly… just plug them in!

We spent the day outside, enjoying the sun and relaxing.  I knew that all the girls would be there by that evening, so I really wanted to take the afternoon to relax and enjoy the weather and the pool.

We had pedicures at 6:30 pm so we all got ready to head over and get our nails done.  The place we went had a great room in the back with a bunch of pedicure chairs so we all got to be in there at the same time.  The pedicures were just ok… definitely not the best I’ve had, so that was a little disappointing.  We decided that pizza would be a good addition to the bottles of wine that we planned on having for dinner, so we grabbed that on the way home.

In case I haven't mentioned how great my Aunts and Uncles are... let me just talk about it again.  My Uncle Bill (who took a lot of these wedding week pictures for me) was having so much fun with us that he decided he'd make a trip up to the lake to see if the groomsmen were as fun.  He got some great pictures of them, too...

After dinner, I ironed the “guest book” quilt while the girls put the favors, photo share cards, and notes about our guest book, in the napkins that my grandma, aunt, uncle and I had folded the day before.  The process only took about 30 minutes.  As much as I loved having all of them there to help, I knew that when it came to getting all my boxes of stuff ready, I wanted to make sure that I saw each thing with my own two eyes… just so there was no confusion.  So, everyone sat at the table chatting and I gathered stuff and started putting it in tubs and boxes based on where it went or what “category” it was in.  I was so organized with my list that everything was REALLY easy to put together and I was done pretty quickly.

I don’t know what time we went to bed, but I did not sleep well AT ALL.  My brain was racing and about nothing in particular so it wasn't even like I could get up and write stuff down to get it to quit like I usually can.
